Shakshuka is a breakfast from Isreal made with eggs and tomatoes.


  • 1 red onion

  • 1 can chunky tomatoes OR 500g fresh Tomatoes

  • 1/2 red chili

  • 10g olive oil

  • 1 tsp. paprika powder

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/2 bunch of parsley

  • optional: hummus & bread or rice


  • cut the onion and chili in small pieces and add to a hot pan

  • add the chunky tomatoes and spice it up with salt, pepper and paprika powder

  • make some space (like little holes) for the eggs in the pan and add them

  • cover the pan wit a lit and poach the eggs for 5-10 minutes at medium heat

  • cut the parsley and add on top of the eggs

  • serve with hummus and bread or rice
